It's only my 3rd day here but feels like i've been here for about a month. Today had our first lessons about Hainan which were a bit odd. The poor guy lecturing was so nervous and explained that it was only his first lesson teaching in english, so half the time we didn't really know what he was going on about. Our first Chinese lesson was quite good as it covered all the basic sounds we needed to use so using my phrase book is easier. All the people here are really nice including the co-ordinators Kevin and Miao. I'm sharing a room with a really nice girl called Bernice and have been staying on the 6th floor of a hotel next to Haikou university although today we moved into our permenant student accomodation which I actually like better and is in the same hotel, just on the 3rd floor instead.
Yesterday we went for a bus tour to different parts of the island. Fist went to a place to have Happy Moutain coffee with something that tasted like Ambrosia custard and then had lunch in little thatched hut thingys. It's strange having Chinese every day for every meal and trying so many different types of food. Really love the cake shop just outside the hotel as I can get egg custard tarts for just 7p yay! Stuff is so cute and cheap here its difficult not to buy everything :S Can't wait to go short people clothes shopping just discovered a really busy shopping road nearby. I'm still getting used to everyone here being Chinese and I don't get stared at unless I speak and then I confused people hehe. Everyone else attracts so much attention and gets stared at quite a lot.
I managed to get my chinese sim on the first day thoguh I don't think I can receive any texts from overseas :( shall keep checking my english sim even so as I can get messages there.
I'd better go, have spent ages here as the internet connection is so slow!

Happy Christmas people, hope you all had a fun day and nice presents :) I got mostly money but also TRAY CUSHIONS! Not only tray cushions 3 TRAY CUSHIONS. One of which I am using now for my laptop hehe. Also got a lovely blue hiking backpack from my cousin which will be very useful for travel. Just been given the email addresses of all the people going so can contact them before hand! We kind of celebrated christmas already when Vavi came to stay 2 weeks ago. She got me the new Anna Sui perfume in large and the miniature version, it's adorable!
Then today went to my cousin's to eat christmas lunch/dinner (not entirely sure which) and play with baby. After eating Gloria drew all over my nails with her new nails pens which I secretly wanted for myself and we played Monopoly though people kept merging with each other so they could buy houses and it ended up being everyone against Matthew :s Was then mocked by everyone for wanting to watch the Dr Who christmas special grrr! Thankfully they didn't know I was recording it at home teehee.
Too full of christmassy food now so going to sleep! Nite nite :)

I got woken up by the postman for the second time this week and had to dash down to sign for packages in my green turtle PJs with my eyes half open and my lecture today was so confusing, at one point she said something about reality being so real that it wasn't anything anymore... What is that supposed to mean! We resorted to drawing the guy we were supposed to be studying driving in a car in the desert...

On saturday I went to stratford-upon-avon to interview people which I know I should just make them up but i'm terrible at lying so if its partially true then its better. most people were nice and gave me good answers, some tourist wanted a picture of me interviewing his wife which was funny. So I struck a studenty pose with my pen and clipboard hehe.

What did I do Sunday? I really can't remember, never mind hehe :)

Ok, right so I got a call this morning and apparently we are all unredundanted! We have to go in and sign another contract but everything will go back to normal apparently, apart from we'll be under new ownership or something. Stupidness...

Today was Matt's 18th birthday which I was late for. It took me 2 and a half hours to get home!!! The tube is just meh and evil. I got him a huge "i'm 18" badge and some flying saucers. He had sparklers for his cake which took about 4 seconds to die so then we lit a proper sparkler which was not designed for cakes and succeeded in showering the cake in ash and engulfing us in smoke :| ah well it still tasted good.

Christmas was good though some poor souls won't get their presents until about May :S sorry Karlie! New Year was crap due to stupid tubes which are still being stupid, hence rushing all the way to up to the london in library to return a library book which would otherwise have been overdue.
I think i'm going to give up my job for now as i've tried exams and working and it was not pretty. Its also just annoying as this term none of my lectures are before 12 this semester and getting up early one day a week just makes me grumpy if i'm not used to it.
Also having a job means I can justify spending when actually I can't seeing as I only work one day a week for minimum wage eek!

Oo dear just spent ages sending silly recorded messages to Steph (who is downstairs) over msn :| so now have to go do my salinization essay. Byee!

Wanted to update due to the fact that we have 6 icon spaces and this made me realise that I don't actually use different icons...
Yargh anyway, went skating today at Canary Wharf with Tora, Bunny and Anika and had lovely caramel coffee which made me sleepy. I think Tower of London was better for outdoor skating as it was bigger and less crowded with a much smoother surface, though Canary Wharf had prettier lighting and loads of lit up christmas trees and very tall glass buildings surrounding it :)
Just had a very long conversation with someone about corn which was much more interesting than doing my dissertation *sigh*
Oo also went to see Narnia which was very pretty and funny in places that shouldn't have been funny :) but I really want to go there now! *goes inside her wardrobe*

Am currently eating those weird mini pringles which are just...weird.
Just came back from work and we have just got in a load of pirate themed stuff...
Hidious ruffled lacy pirate type shirts, waistcoats, short trousers along with red and white striped tops and pirate boots which I secretly quite like (on Johnny Depp at least) Oo and was told I work the equivilant of three people er which was nice or possibly suggesting that I am some weird workaholic freak.
Have finished all lectures now yayness! But the alternative is 2 essays and a dissertation :( After my last lecture went to watching people skating at Somersethouse which is so beautiful with flame torches and lights so will take my camera next time :) My cousin who's never been before said "wow it looks so easy" at which someone screamed and promptly flipped over on to their back...
Meh tomorrow I have to find how to get to Purley Way TGI Fridays for a staff meal :| I tempted by free steak and now regret it...

Baby Daniel is just so cute and getting longer! It like he's being streched hehe :) He fell asleep in my arms the other day!
Went on the motorway for the first time last weekend. It was weird and managed to drive for about 2 hours before daddy took over again. Towards the end though I had the horrible radio advert which goes "the monotomy of driving send you to sleep..." going through my head :|
Yes it is knitting(procrastinating) season again and my new camera came and had no case so I knitted one for it -->



It looks better with the camera in it but er...camera doesn't like pictures of himself in fancy clothes.
